We have hade 2 very good seasons in West Gippsland resulting in some great results from our Salers cattle. We pregnancy tested 80 breeders (cows and heifers) from our Autumn calving herd at the end of August with 75 returning in calf. This has been followed by our Spring Calving herd producing 65 live calves from 68 animals that were tested pregnant back in February (2 animals lost twins, and 1 hasn’t calved). We normally run 40-50 breeders in each herd, which means we have some outstanding Salers cows & calves, PTIC heifers and 14 month heifers for sale.
